What is J. Burkart Design Studio all about?
Sharing creativity with the community and helping eliminate excuses for not scratching your creative itch. We hope to achieve this by offering classes and workshops, sharing creative workspace and materials, and giving local artisans a venue to show their work to the public.
When are you open?
Studio hours are Tuesday through Friday from 10am till 6pm, and Saturdays from 10am till 2pm. We are closed Sunday and Monday. Call about extended hours.
What kinds of classes do you offer?
We have a wide variety of craft projects that can be shared in classes or private parties. You can find a list of class ideas here.
How do I sign up for a class?
Classes can be booked online or by phone with a credit card. To book online, first select your class from the list of scheduled classes, then you’ll be redirected to a third-party application, where you can book and pay for your class.
How much do classes cost?
Class prices start at $25 per person and vary based on the project, material costs, and time. Prices for scheduled classes can be found here.
Do I need to pay for classes in advance?
We take payment for scheduled classes at the time of reservation. Walk-ins are welcome but subject to availability.
When do I need to arrive for a class?
We recommend you arrive at least 15 minutes before class starts.
How do I book a private party or event?
Call 727-329-8429 to discuss your desired project, group size, and scheduling requirements, and we’ll work together to tailor an event just for you!
Can you help me with a project seen on Pinterest, YouTube, etc.?
Absolutely! Call us to discuss your project.
Can I come in to create or paint other times?
Please do! For an hourly rate, you can come in and use a variety of crafting materials when classes and events are not in session. Call ahead for availability.
Are there age requirements for classes?
Classes are available for adults and children ages 8+. Scheduled classes on this site will also include information on age requirements for each class. Children under age 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
Is there reserved seating?
Yes. Your workspace will be set up for you before your arrival. If you are attending the class with a friend(s), please let us know in advance. You can let us know when you book the class, or you can send us an email with details.
What is your cancellation policy?
A full refund can occur if notification of cancellation occurs at least 48 hours before the class starts. You can also have the option to put the reservation on hold for a later date or transfer the reservation to another class. The reservation can be put on hold or transferred to another class if notification is received at least 24 hours before class start. Loss of payment will occur if no notification of cancellation occurs or if notification occurs less than 24 hours prior to class start. This cancellation policy applies to parties of 5 or less. Cancellation for parties of 6 or more require a minimum of seven days notice for a refund or to reschedule.
What do I need to bring with me to class?
We provide everything you will need for the class, including an apron though we do suggest dressing appropriately. You are welcome to bring your own beverages and snacks. We will have bottled water, cups, and ice available at no extra cost.
What should I wear to class?
We do not have a dress code but recommend
Can we bring drinks?
You may only bring non-alcoholic beverages to classes that are open to children. You may bring wine or beer to classes that are scheduled for adults only. We will have bottled water, cups, and ice available at no extra cost.
