About Me

My career has given me more than just a peek "behind the scenes" when it comes to running an office. Not long after I graduated from high school, I entered the corporate world as an office clerk, then became a secretary, followed by receptionist and government sub contractor. It was as an "office temp" that I finally got my foot in the door as a graphic designer and ultimately an art director in various "in-house" marketing departments, a couple of printing companies and an ad agency.

In almost every one of those positions I was often asked to assist owners, executives and administrative staff in those "all hands on deck" situations growing companies know so well. All of this is to say that I've earned my stripes or badges or patches in a wide range of proficiencies. Below is a listing of the skills I've added to my tool belt along the way.

Manager of Merchandising & Creative Services

November 2009 – May 2015

Worked with the sales, product manager and other marketing team members to generate creative concepts, designs and artwork to consistently reflect the brand identity and campaign aesthetic. Managed the development and design of retail packaging, merchandising, sales collateral, advertising, email marketing, web graphics, corporate communications and sales presentations. Art directed and managed Graphic Designer, freelance artists and contract workers.

As photographer I evaluated new products then established shot lists, merchandising and casting for images as required. Created sets and set lighting to best display products then retouched and enhanced final images as needed.

Web Specialist duties included developing, designing and executing web promotions. Maintained contact lists and generated reports of sales and user data.

Senior Designer

(September 2010 – March 2013)

  • Conceived, designed and created retail packaging, merchandising, sales materials, advertising, presentation and web graphics that creatively and consistently reflected the OttLite’s brand identity.
  • Assisted in planning and art directing photo shoots.
  • Image correction and retouching of product photography.

Graphic Designer

(November 2009 – September 2010)

  • Created on-brand packaging designs and mock-ups for all products. Responsible for image correction and retouching of product photography. Generated graphic designs and illustrations for marketing and/or sales. Produced final print ready files.

  • Brand Management – Responsible to ensure that a project falls within the established client standards. Intimately involved in the initial creation of a client’s graphic standards.
  • Design and Production – Design “from scratch,” designing within a brand, as well as finalizing designs, mechanicalizing and preparing files to print.
